General faq answers

  1. How can I contact WizardForge?
  2. Email: [contact (at) wizardforge (dot) org]

Snail mail address: Robert Molsstraat 11; 2018 Antwerp; Belgium

  3. Who is running WizardForge?
  4. WizardForge is created and maintained by OneSparrow, a very small company based in Antwerp, Belgium. So resources are limited, but we do our best to add new functionality to the site while keeping the site up and running while earning some money in another way. We are very grateful to the Institute for the Promotion of Innovation by Science and Technology in Flanders for their financial support for the first version of this project back in 2007.

  5. Is there a wizardforge mailing list?
  6. There is a mailing list where you can send all your wizardforge related questions. If you haven't done so, you can check the searchable archive. Next thing you can do is post your question to the wizardforge mailing list (requires subscription to the list, which is independent of registering at wizardforge.org):

    • To subscribe to the wizardforge list, send an email to [wizardforge-request (at) freelists (dot) org] with 'subscribe' in the Subject field. You can also subscribe via the web interface, which allows you to tune your subscription.
    • To unsubscribe from the wizardforge list, send an email to [wizardforge-request (at) freelists (dot) org] with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field.
    • To post to the wizardforge list, simply send email to [wizardforge (at) freelists (dot) org].

Note that WizardForge is based on the language definition and engine of wizard4j, so any questions regarding flowchart language, engine, dia extension, should be sent to the appropriate wizard4j mailing lists.

  7. Can I use the WizardForge logo to link to the WizardForge website?
  8. Yes, you can. Here is a direct link to the logo.

  9. How is the ranking of 'most popular wizard' determined?
  10. It is a list of the most executed wizard versions in the last period (currently 1 month).

User's faq answers

  1. I get a message saying "The server encountered an unexpected error....". What can I do?
  2. There is no need to report this type of error to WizardForge, since it will be automatically notified to the site administrator, who will investigate this ASAP. However, if you have a description on how you obtained this behavior, especially when it can be reproduced, it could be very helpful to tell us about it via mail at [error (at) wizardforge (dot) org].

  3. I noticed a bug in WizardForge without the above error. What can I do?
  4. We will be grateful if you tell us about it at [error (at) wizardforge (dot) org].

  5. I think there is a bug in a certain wizard. What can I do?
  6. There are several things you can do.

    • A constructive reaction would be to tell the creator of the wizard about the problem. As a registered user you can send either a private message to the creator or a message to the forum associated with the wizard.
    • If the wizard code is open source and its license allows it, you could contribute your own fixed version.
    • You could give the wizard (version) a bad rating.

  7. What is the meaning of the ratings given to a wizard?
  8. This is not exact science, but what we have in mind is something like this:

    Excellent
    Good
    Average
    Buggy
    Pretty bad
